The Paid Discovery Playbook Part 2: How to Sell Paid Discovery and Book Higher-Paying Projects

Are you stuck in the cycle of undercharging because “it’s so easy” with your favorite page builder? The truth is, the real value isn’t in how fast you can build—it’s in your strategy. In Part 2 of this two-part series, we’ll cover what happens after you’ve mastered the discovery process: how to actually get clients to say yes to paying for it. You’ll learn how to position Paid Discovery as a must-have investment (not just a “nice-to-have”), sell it with confidence, and use it to book higher-paying, more profitable projects—without working for free. No matter which page builder you use, this process will help you shift your mindset, communicate your value, and finally get paid for the strategy behind the build—so you can maximize your time, income, and impact.

    What You’ll Learn:

✅ How Paid Discovery differs from free discovery and why it works
✅ How to use it to get more clients at more profitable prices
✅ A step-by-step overview of the Paid Discovery Process we teach at the Web Designer Academy.
✅ How to shift your mindset from “It’s so easy, I can't charge more” to “My expertise is what clients are really paying for.”

It would be great if that was the case, but it isn’t.
Pulled from my bestselling book, Made to Sell: Creating Websites that Convert, I'll reveal the tips and tricks to transform your website, and in turn, your brand and revenue. Whether you have a simple one-page site or a complex retail store with thousands of products.

Design Once, Build Everywhere: The Lego Principle for Page Builders

Page builders are powerful—but right now, they’re walled gardens. Every tool has its own way of doing things, its own patterns, and its own limitations. What if instead, we built with portability in mind?

In this talk, Tammie Lister introduces The Lego Principle: a call for a shared foundation across page builders where patterns, components, and styles can be created once, and used anywhere—without the headaches of reformatting, re-styling, or re-learning.

She’ll explore how builders can support seamless import/export, reduce duplication, and let users learn once and create everywhere. Crucially, this isn’t about making every builder the same—it’s about giving them a common language, while still leaving room for unique features, design choices, and creative flair.

It’s not about having more pieces—it’s about building smarter, together.

Get It Seen: Accessible Charts that Convert

This presentation will outline the basic rules to build charts that can be "seen" by everyone – as well as providing you with a "magic wand" to remediate existing data viz. Wunderstars

Does LinkedIn feel über spammy? Has your team been nagging you to post, but six months later, your profile still looks like a ghost town—while your more LinkedIn-confident competitors seem to be getting all the attention from your ideal clients?

You’re not alone. And the good news? I can help.

I’m a Chartered Marketer with 24 years of experience helping sector-leading organizations grow their brands, social media communities, and influence. I’ve worked with Atarim, PowerShifters, BuildUp Bookings, The Financial Times, The Institute of Directors, and Mighty Social (now Cubaka), where I helped transform the agency into Europe’s fastest-growing social ad company—winning four Deloitte & FT Fastest-Growing Companies Awards.

For years, I was that marketing executive, manager, and director on the client side, commissioning digital agencies. I know exactly what makes agencies stand out—and what makes potential clients ignore you.

As the founder of Wunderstars, I help growth-minded agency leaders beat LinkedIn overwhelm and land their best clients—the ones who pay well and their team loves working with. If you’re stuck on what to post, too swamped, or want your team to step up on LinkedIn, I’ll help you break through your Berlin Wall of LinkedIn Fears and make LinkedIn work for your agency!

I work with agency founders through 1:1 LinkedIn coaching, co-creating their LinkedIn strategy with my LinkedIn Activator Playbook, and done-for-you WunderContent to help them attract the right clients, grow their influence, and build a Kunden-magnet LinkedIn presence with sustainable LinkedIn habits.

And yes, I have a German accent, and my marketing enthusiasm is catchy—because I genuinely want you to make an impact on LinkedIn!

As a qualified MCode coach, I now offer Chris Lema’s MCode assessments as part of my client onboarding process. Understanding what truly drives you is a game-changer for showing up consistently on LinkedIn and turning your profile into a client magnet.

My clients often describe me as the best marketing investment of the year.

I’m a Top LinkedIn Voice (yep, with the shiny blue badge ) and was one of just 130 selected from 30,000 for the UK’s first LinkedIn Content Accelerator Programme. I also speak at events like The Futur, BrightonSEO, and CaboPress—where in 2024, I even gave a LinkedIn talk from a pool in Mexico.
